advice on hairstyle for homecoming please?

i need help deciding if i should wear my hair up or down for my homecoming dance next week. heres my dress & shoes:

dress: http://www.bcbg.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3189034&cp=2769162.3244010&view=all&clickid=cat_leftnav_txt&parentPage=family except in navy blue

shoes: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2970555?Category=&Search=True&SearchType=keywordsearch&keyword=chinese+laundry+in+All+Categories&origin=searchresults in silver

heres the choices i was thinking between the up or down-do:

updo: http://www.tvsquad.com/2008/09/08/gossip-girl-never-been-marcused blairs bun (the far left)

down-do: http://www.gossipgirlinsider.com/gallery/all-smiles/

my main concern is that, since the dress is pretty short, showing my shoulders might be showing too much skin, but the bun seems classier. any suggestions?

honestly…if its that important to you…I as a guy LOVE hair down…or some up and some down….all up gets old

it depends on your face every girl is different go ask your hair stylist

i love it! bcbg is my fave designer. anyways… i would definitely go with down. i like the style better AND you won’t look like a ho. no offense, but the shortness of the dress and the height of the heels is pushing it already and so you need some shoulder coverage or SOMETHING.

the updo would look best. i love the dress and shoes.

the bun is more in keeping with the style of the dress. If you’re afraid of showing your shoulders get a little shoulder wrap or shrug… or do a half bun (which’ll have to be a little tighter than in the pic) and then leave the bottom half out so you’ll have that bun feel without the shoulder worry.

I really like both. If you did the bun it would be a very chic, polished look and the down hair would look like more of messy but chic, bohoish look

with strapless dresses its best i think to wear ur hair down
also with the updo it has the potential to get messed up while ur dancing and if it fell out would you be able to fix it?
hope this helps
cute dress btw!

mine?

down do for sure… if you want classy maybe neater waves parted down the center rather than the messier look. think gisele…

Defiantly do an up do it is a classy dress and shoes but hair down will just be flat

I like the hair that is down only I would nix the braids, they give to much of that “flower power” 70′s feel and maybe opt for more of curls then waves to feel a little more put together.

The dress and shoes are very cute and if you would really like to go with the “up-do” try finding a cute little cardigan to throw over your shoulders to cover them up more even something as simple as a necklace can make you feel a little more covered.

i dont like either hairdo.

personally i think you should leave yuor hair down, teased, with a some of your hair ties back…

that would be pretty.

I love the dress and shoes combo—very modern. Nice job!
As for the hair, I personally prefer to wear my hair down when I wear a strapless dress for two reasons: (1) It’s more dramatic, especially if you’re already showing some leg, and (2) Long, shiny hair styled the right way is a real attention getter—especially for the guys. No one can resist a girl in a hot dress with beautiful, flowing hair.

I’ve added a few other suggestions that I think would really complement the look:

Volume and large, bouncy waves:

i love the down look i think that with your hair up with that dress it makes your shoulders look very empty. i would defintantly wear the down look
also your dress is pretty

up do is best not to take away from the dress
