I would like to have a good pair of walking shoes. What are some of the brands for a good pair of walking shoes?

newbalance for just walking, if you really want to some cardio running, than nike shox will be excellent.
If you’re a woman Ryka makes some excellent shoes. Earth shoes are good (you’ll get more of a workout walking because of the negative heel). I’ve also had Rockports, Bass, Birkenstock and Tevas that I’ve liked very much and been able to walk long distances in.
But different foot shapes do better with different brands. Your best bet is to go to a store that specializes in athletic or comfort shoes and try shoes on until you find what will work best for you.
Agree with Stephen, Nu-Balance is best for “gym” type shoes. If you want something more “regular” looking, try Rockport walking shoes
All of the brands that have been listed are great. I’d also like to add Asics, Nike, and Saucony.
What matters most is that find you a shoe that fits your feet. Visit an athletic shoe store and they can help you determine what kind of walking shoe you need.
For example, what kind of arches do you have, high, flat or normal? There are shoes for every arch type and picking the right one for your arches can actually make a huge difference in your comfort level. There are other factors too so it’s important to try on a few pairs to find the best shoe for you.
