What are really good walking or jogging shoes?

Well,I have recently started walking so I can lose weight. I love it! But I don't have the right shoes. I have new balance and converse that's all I have to walk in..
What are really good walking or jogging shoes and socks?
I get sore spots on my heels and on the balls of my feet.
And I have a size 10 shoe

Running shoes, and nike does make a lot of good running shoes
